55 on an old-fashioned answering machine

Toward the diner, uncertain. Remembering: Beeeep! "Meed me ad Meg's Diner. Sigs o'clog. Sorry I soud bad, god a code," click. But was she Janine (breakup: two weeks ago) or pink-hair girl (drunken dancing last weekend, shouted phone numbers now forgotten)?

The Past?
Or a promising future?

Probably catch a cold either way.

we obsess about our past & think too much about our future. And between the two, lies crushed & forgotten, our present!

Go to the diner, forget if its past or present, and that will keep you warm!

Good solid advice, Mona!

(Although this particular 55 is entirely fictitious.)

Thanks for dropping in!

Well if you have to catch a cold, I can't think of a betetr way...

If you have a minute I was hoping you might stop by and sign the virtual birthday card I posted for Lime.

g-man,

As I've mentioned in a couple of places on my blog, I write very regularly, so I don't lack for writing fun by any means. But having the Friday 55 to spur me in a brief, unrelated direction is a nice way to take a regular break. (Especially since I've been writing on a single series of related novels for about five or six years now.)

Thanks for doing your part to keep the whole 55 scene going!

mojo,

Your wish is my command.

Oh,Oh sounds like it's time for a new answering machine. Or a new meeting place. :D

Lime,

Thank-you's are never belated, because it's never too late to say Thank You. : )

Hope your big day was a good one!

Lulda,

But if the answering machine was a new one (or a digital service), it would have provided a return number, and then there'd be no 55 for me to write!
