Trekkies 55

These guys take Star Trek a little too seriously.
It's more than just a show to them.

A philosophy.

Even a lifestyle.

Reality check!

Trekkies are ridiculous,
and it's okay to laugh.

BUT

only

because

ALL people are laughably ridiculous somehow.

Even you.

So remember,
when chortling:

Trekkies are free
to laugh
at you
too.

55

Rasta,

If you like laughing at Trekkies, you should definitely rent the movie "Trekkies," which showcases their many foibles.

: )

Shadow,

Superbly put!

Ciara,

Do you have the one where Kirk, Spock, and Scotty are on the transporter pad, and when you push the button it makes the sound of the transporter energizing and a miniature strobe light flickers to make the figures seem to blink in and out?

That's the greatest ornament ever.

G-man,

Watch out - Strumpet may disagree strongly with your assessment of Tribbles. And you have to admit that they do come in handy if someone has poisoned your shipment of quadro-triticale grain.

Someday in the near future we will be able to say "Beam me UP" and then the Trekkies will rule! :D

We should all be able to laugh at ourselves shouldn't we? Good 55, it reminded me. :)

Being a child of the 50s and that when Star Trek came out we had never seen anything quite like it on TV--WELL--haha--we must all foster the ability to laugh at ourselves. I was madly in love with Capt. Kirk. But, like me, he has changed. Morphed into Denny Crane on Boston Legal, I fear. sigh. D

I'm setting my phaser to stun, Devo-licious.

Just for you.

Are you as excited as I am?

Gayland,

Don't diss on the tribbles, man.

Don't hate.

haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I just scrolled down and read the rest of your comments.

You know me well, Oh Devo One.

But, now I must click that link.

Oh, but speaking of Boston Legal...Kirk still looks and acts hot.

It's James Spader that makes that show so disappointing to watch--and therefore I don't. He was the bomb in Pretty in Pink. Wha' happened? Though, there were a few episodes where he was gettin' it on with Parker Posey. That was hot. I watched that.

Lulda,

I think it would be most illogical for Trekkies to desire to "rule," and also contrary to the Prime Directive.

However ... you're right!

Akelamalu,

Show me a person incapable of self-mockery and I will say, "Geez, why are you showing me this person? I don't want to be around this kind of doofus!" Well, maybe I wouldn't say it, because that would be kind of mean. But I'd be thinking it!

Donnetta Lee,

I was a child in the days when Star Trek ran every day on TV. I think it helped teach me to love bright colors, passionate music, sarcasm, competence, and genuine tolerance.

Strumpet,

Oh, Strumpet, don't you know that you are always stunning?

; )

I've only seen part of a single episode of Boston Legal, so I don't have any real opinion on Denny Crane. But James Spader was one of the only good things about the movie Stargate, so it's sad if he's now past his prime.

Maybe he should have taken a role in a Star Trek show instead!
