When I was young, the stars were closer.
The moon was a place to go.
There would be cities under the seas,
and cars would fly
and sooner or later someone would invent warp drive
and we could all get out of here.
Earth is so much smaller now.
Yet the stars are still faraway.

This is inspired, love it..."someone would invent warp drive and we could all get out of here." cool idea that, I'm still waiting too. :)
My 55 is on Passionate Fiction
Devo...?
What a Great 55.
Always Top Notch with you!
Thank You so much for sharing this bit of brilliance with us...
Have a Wonderful Week-End....G
Awesome!!
Wait, isn't warp drive invented during WWIII?
Eaton,
Yeah, every time I hear about some really freaky scientific discovery, like the quantum teleportation of atoms, it gets my hopes up.
What's weird is, I think it's much more likely we'll have warp drive in my lifetime than space tourism to the moon, because warp drive could hypothetically come out of some rapid revolution in theoretical physics, whereas there's clearly not going to be enough infrastructure investment in nuts-and-bolts space travel to make Earth-to-moon space tourism viable anytime soon.
G-Man,
Thanks, and you have a wonderful weekend too!
SEE,
Technically, I think it's supposed to be shortly after WWIII, but that wasn't real clear in the show when I was a kid, and besides, back then we all thought WWIII was coming right around the corner anyhow. "Two Minutes to Midnight" and all that. (And no, I'm not talking about the Iron Maiden song, although that's a pretty cool song.)
I was really hoping that you and your scientificosityness would have said something about the title, which I put on there even though I figured not too many people would be egg-headed enough to get. But I'll take "Awesome!!" anyday.
Love to all,
Devotee
wow...that was a great 55. :)
